Diablo 4 has an unprecedented amount of customization options, from characters, to class builds, to cosmetics — and one of the systems we're most excited for is the Mount system, allowing us to customize our trusty steeds. In the Play Your Way Developer Blog post, Blizzard gave us a bit more information on how these Mounts will work — including how we'll unlock them! Play Your Way in Diablo 4 — Blizzard Blog We've previously covered a few aspects of Mount customization, such as finding Bardings and Trophies to adorn your Mount, as well as Mount skins that were found during the Open Beta weekends. Now, Blizzard has revealed the method of unlocking these mounts to use is gated behind the Main Questline.
Unlocked after completing the Main Questline with one character, Mounts have an assortment of customization options available to them, such as different types of Mounts, Armor, and Trophies. An example of this is the Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy reward that can be earned from the upcoming Server Slam. These adornments will transform your trusty ol’ steed into one hell of a warhorse. Mount Trophies can be attached to the flank or saddle of your horse. There are dozens of Trophies to be found in Sanctuary. Once a Mount is unlocked, it can be used in all game modes for any and all characters the player creates.This does raise a few questions, however, since during the Open Beta interacting with the Stables gave limited information on a quest, Mount: Donan's Favor. Will this be locked beyond full completion of the Main Questline? Or is this referring to one zone's Main Questline?
