Sigur Studio has officially announced Cowboys and Rustlers, a top-down action-adventure game set in the Wild West and taking inspiration from Red Dead Redemption. Since the launch of Red Dead Redemption in 2010, the outlaws of the Old West have become a popular subject for video games based on the lawless nature of the setting. Numerous games have taken inspiration from the cowboy story and Rockstar themselves would even launch Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. Now, the makers of parody game Rustler are back with a new Wild West-themed game.
Cowboys and Rustlers wouldn't be the first time the developer has taken inspiration from Rockstar's storied history of open-world games. As Jutsu Games, the developer would launch Rustler in 2021 as a medieval parody on the Grand Theft Auto franchise's classic top-down formula from the early days of the series. Rustler would include plenty of humorous elements as part of the game, with everything from traffic lights for horses to the Monty Python franchise's iconic «holy hand grenade.» Now, Cowboys and Rustlers takes the chaotic comedic action to the Old West.
