The long-in-development Dead Island 2 has sold more than one million copies within its first three days on sale.
That's according to publisher Deep Silver, which revealed that the title went platinum in its first weekend. Furthermore, the firm claims that to date, players have spent 11 million hours in the game. That means that on average, players have spent 11 hours in Dead Island 2.
There's no break down for sales by platform so far.
Furthermore, Deep Silver claims that 1.1 billion zombies have been killed so far.
"Hell-A welcomed over a million Slayers during its launch weekend," the brand's official Twitter account wrote.
"That's mind-blowing. Thank you."
Dead Island 2 was revealed all the way back in 2014 with Spec Ops: The Line dev Yager at the helm. In 2016, the UK's Sumo Digital took over the project, before Deep Silver's own Dambuster studio – formerly Crytek UK – was handed the reins two years later.
