The shiny new version of Dead by Daylight Mobile is out now on Android, featuring overhauled graphics, new modes, and a raft of new multiplayer features.
For those unaware, Dead by Daylight Mobile initially launched back in 2020. It was developed by Behaviour Interactive, and was a standalone version of the hit 4v1 multiplayer game.
As of today, that’s gone – replaced with a new version developed by NetEase.
Well, pretty much everything. Effectively, this is a totally new version of Dead by Daylight Mobile that replaces the original mobile version.
There are graphical improvements, which change the game’s appearance as well as including clothing and hair physics, new lighting, and enhanced character models.
But it’s the content that sees the biggest change, most notably with The Rift, which makes a triumphant arrival on mobile. For those unaware, this is Dead by Daylight’s battle pass, featuring 80 levels worth of rewards.
Well, a ton of new multiplayer content, for one. Everything you want in a multiplayer game, including leaderboards, squads, chat, and fully-fledged player profiles are now a thing in Dead by Daylight Mobile.
There’s also a brand new mode, Quick Match, which dispenses with the ranking nonsense and allows you to just jump in a game and have fun. You still earn Bloodpoints, shards, and experience too.
It’s not all sunshine and roses though. There’s a gacha system known as ‘The Entity’s Treasure’, which has you pulling for cosmetics.
Though we’re not a huge fan of these gambling-style practices, at least none of the rewards give you a gameplay advantage.
