Although the hype has died down, Sons of the Forest enjoyed great success when it released not long ago, and the developer has now rolled out the game's first major patch, which comes loaded with a bunch of tweaks. Despite being somewhat saturated over the years, the survival horror genre is still going pretty strong, with Endnight's recent forest-based title sitting comfortably among some of its contemporaries. There is evidently something about trying to survive in a harsh environment that keeps pulling players in.
For those who are new to the sequel, there is plenty of advice for Sons of the Forest beginners. Just trying to make it through each night with food, water, and shelter is enough without having to battle with the cannibalistic denizens that inhabit the area. While fans have been getting to grips with the early access, the developer has been putting together a significant update.
Sons of the Forest Can Be Completed With Just a Stick
A recent patch for Sons of the Forest, which is simply called «Patch 01,» adds a host of new things to the game while also tweaking a few elements. As well as implementing a mini boss, binoculars, and a hang glider, this latest update also fixes a number of issues. One of the more notable ones involves the AI companion Kelvin, the helpful NPC who is tasked with helping the player by chopping down wood, building shelter, and collecting resources. However, Kelvin would complete this first objective even if the player was already using the tree as part of their base. This was obviously an oversight when it came to programming the character, and this should no longer be a problem.
