Playable infants have now been added to the base game. For nearly a decade, infants were treated more like extended furniture than actual Sims. Now, infants have a range of abilities, and interactions to make them stand out and be ready to grow into toddlers.
The original infants still remain but have been renamed as newborns. This starting life state is also greatly shortened to just a few days. Loading up saves made prior to the March patch will simply reclassify existing babies. There is no need to fully redesign a large portion of the town.

Infants can now be directly created and edited within Create a Sim (CAS). Existing Sims can be aged down to infancy, or brand-new infants can be made using the Play with Genetics option on one or more Sims that are at least young adults or older. Infants use modified toddler clothing for everyday, formal, sleep, hot, and cold situations.
There are six traits to choose from in the base :
New infants will also be generated from existing Sims woohooing, or if the option “Have a Baby” is toggled in Neighborhood Stories from the green top right menu of the Manage Household screen. Their genetic makeup will be more randomized, possibly having features from grandparents or beyond. Many of these traits will be locked by default but can be changed on PC or console via cheat codes.
