Now is one of the best times to buy a Steam Deck. To celebrate the product’s one-year anniversary, Valve is offering a 10% discount off the PC gaming handheld.
That means the Steam Deck can now be bought starting at $359.10 for the 64GB version, $476.10 for the 256GB model, and $584.10 for the 512GB edition.
The company announced(Opens in a new window) the promotion on Thursday, and said it’ll last until March 23rd 10am PST through Steam’s "Spring Sale" event, which is also offering discounts on various PC and Steam Deck-compatible games.
Some consumers may have held off on buying the Steam Deck due to the limited supplies. Demand for the PC gaming handheld was so high that it took months for Valve to fulfill many pre-orders. But in October, the company finally ended the waitlist for the Steam Deck, meaning anyone can purchase one now and expect to receive it in one to two weeks.
Interested customers can go to the Steam store(Opens in a new window) to buy a select model. However, some may be wondering if it’s better off to wait for a next-generation Steam Deck. Indeed, Valve has plans for a new model that’ll contain more processing power, but a company designer recently said(Opens in a new window) the product won't arrive for another “few years.”
The Steam Deck is currently verified to run 3,000 games, according(Opens in a new window) to SteamDB.info. Another 5,000 games have been certified as playable. On Thursday, Valve also published(Opens in a new window) a list of the top 100 titles played over Steam Deck in the past year, and they include Hogwarts Legacy, Vampire Survivors, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Elden Ring.
