It might be confusing to read that Secret Invasion takes place in the “present day” but then also read that it’s “2025.” Due to the various time skips in the movies, not to mention the rate at which new shows and films have been released, time has been forced ahead of the real world. It might be mid-2023 here, but it’s 2025 in the MCU’s “present day.”
Expect the events of Secret Invasion to influence upcoming movies and TV series. With Skrulls having already invaded the earth, potentially disguised as various powerful world leaders, the fallout of Secret Invasion’s conclusion is expected to spill into Phase Five films like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and Blade, as well as shows like Echo, Ironheart, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Assuming the Skrull invasion can be stopped, there’s only a matter of time before Kang makes himself known as the true enemy of Earth and its allied planets.
