EA Sports FC 24 is going to be the series’ first game to not have the FIFA branding, but how much is actually changing with the actual gameplay? Shortly after the game’s recent formal reveal, EA has now also released a gameplay deep dive trailer that answers that question, focusing on three main leaps it’s making over last year’s game where the on-pitch action is concerned.
The first of these is HyperMotion V, the next iteration of the series’ animation tech. Now using motion capture from real players through multiple cameras placed in stadiums during actual matches, EA Sports FC 24’s HyperMotion V will make for even greater realism and authenticity in the way players move.
Meanwhile, every single player will also now have their own unique signature run, which means we can expect much more variety in how a player controls. However, like previous HyperMotion improvements, HyperMotion V-related upgrades will only not be available on last-gen consoles or the Nintendo Switch.
Another flagship new feature being introduced in EA Sports FC 24 is PlayStyles, which seems to be a new take on player attributes. There are 34 PlayStyles in the game in total, which will go beyond overall ratings and determine players’ unique capabilities based on real-world data provided by Opta. These will cover all phases of play, and include things such as power shots, finesse shots, blocking, interceptions, cross claiming, whipped passes, first touch, and much more. If a player is truly world class with a PlayStyle, they’ll have its PlayStyle+ variation to make it even more potent.
