On Twitter, Diablo 4 Game Director Joe Shely has confirmed that Mount Charge will break through barricades after a future update! The development team has already touched on the subjects of mount movement and utility during their recent Campfire Chat which mainly revolved around Patch 1.1.1. Patch 1.1.1 Campfire Chat Summary Patch 1.1.1 Unofficial Patch Notes Referring to the mount discussion during their livestream on July 28, Joe Shely clarified that mounts will be able to break through barricades after an update which will be «coming soon in the future»: Blizzard has acknowledged that the annoying barricades constructed by Sanctuary's habitants have become a pain point of the community while it sounded like a fun development idea at first.
The team is also working to solve other mount-related issues like overworld collision and controller bugs. Another small but meaningful change will be made to the Mount cooldown after climbing or descending an obstacle in the overworld.
Right now, players will not be able to mount immediately after interacting with ladders, slopes, or other terrain obstacles. This will change with the upcoming mount update, according to one of Shely's replies on Twitter:
