The Ravendawn team is reporting a successful second open beta weekend, noting that there were over 4,000 new players, as well as a record-breaking number of requests.
In an update shared today to the game’s official Discord, the announcement says that:
“Open Beta 2 has shattered our expectations, propelling us to greater heights! With a huge surge of new adventurers, the first weekend alone we welcomed Over 4000 New Players that explored the world of Ravendawn for the first time!”
In addition to adding thousands of new players, the game also broke a record, blowing past 50,000 unique players. This came after the Ravendawn site got over 1,000,000 requests during the first 24 hours of open beta. Not everyone could get a chance to test the game this weekend, but it was an open beta test.
Being a beta that a large group was able to access, thousands for the first time, the team was also performing necessary maintenance and staying on top of issues as they arose. Maintenance as well as changes and hotfixes in response to player testing, getting larger groups in the server, and dealing with glitches and disconnect issues all happened. This is clearly just part of the reason for player testing, especially letting larger numbers of players test out the game on its way to a final release.
