Blasphemous 2 continues the series' trademark blend of tough-as-nails 2D gameplay and unsettling Catholicism-inspired enemy design. Preorders are now live, with the game launching on PS5 next month, on 24th August, and we got a suitably gory gameplay snippet to tide us over in the meantime.
The second scripture in the ongoing Blasphemous series follows from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC, which sees the eternal slumber of The Penitent One disturbed, awakening to another cycle of death and rebirth. Set in a vast, non-linear world, combat has seen several impressive upgrades. With a series of new weapons, moves, executions, and expanded combos, it looks like a worthy sequel to a memorable game.
