Suggestions a Red Dead Redemption remake or remaster is in the works from Rockstar are doing the rounds again as Internet sleuths have uncovered a new logo for the PS3 title recently uploaded to the developer's website. First spotted by Twitter user Tez2, a site update from earlier today included a new reference within the games list as well as the new logo you see below.
While the logo does look very similar to the one used on the front of the PS3 box art, there are some very small changes to the black bordering around the text. In addition, the trademark logo has changed. The codename is RDR1RSP, which some people have taken to mean Red Dead Redemption 1 Remaster SP (single player). Another suggestion is Red Dead Redemption 1 RockStar Presents.
This latest piece of evidence is by no means the first time we've seen claims Rockstar is planning on bringing back Red Dead Redemption for modern systems. The story started last year when it was reported the developer had shelved remasters of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV following the poor reception to GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition. More recently, though, the game has been given a new age rating in Korea and then the achievements in the Rockstar Social Club were updated. Next, Sacred Symbols lead Colin Moriarty claimed to have seen evidence of a revival project and said an official announcement could take place as soon as next month.
Interestingly, it was also spotted that Take-Two — the company that owns Rockstar Games — plans to release «two new iterations of previously-released titles in 2024». Could Red Dead Redemption be one of them? There's mounting evidence to suggest so. Would you go back to the original Red Dead Redemption for another playthrough?
