Catagrams Is a Word Game Full of Adorable Cats, Now Out on Android
Catagrams is a cute, cat-themed word game by Ponderosa Games, an indie studio founded by two software developers who ditched the corporate grind. It’s like a calming mix of Scrabble, a cat café, and an art book.
With beautiful hand-drawn art, Catagrams is a word puzzle game at its core. You match threads and figure out words that are meaningful. Every solved puzzle helps you unlock new cats. The game also lets you customise the word length and difficulty levels the way you like.
Now, the cats that you unlock are all unique and adorable. Each one comes with a distinct quirky personality and has a different favourite activity than the others. Some love the beach while others are content just loafing around in cosy corners.
The customisation in Catagrams isn’t limited to word length and levels. You can choose a short puzzle if you want a quick brain teaser. There’s also a daily puzzle with new challenges every day, so you always have a reason to check in and see what your feline companions are up to.
Catagrams also has a Game Center integration which lets you track achievements and show off your word-solving skills to others. And along with cats, you can also unlock adorable accoutrements for your cats and accessorize them to make them look cuter and cuddlier.

You can grab Catagrams for free from the Google Play Store. However, you can buy the endless mode for limitless puzzles. For $9.99, you can grab the Treat Package, which unlocks all the extra content including a winter cabin puzzle set.
Half of that money goes to support cat rescue organizations. Right now, the donations are going to Happy Cats Haven in Manitou Springs, Colorado, so while you’re having fun, you’re also helping real cats in need. Yep, a game for a cause!
