One of the best candidates for an Economic Victory in is the powerful leader Amina. She has a natural affinity for trade, resource management, and bolstering Gold reserves, especially when playing with some of her strategic civilization options. Across the Ages, Amina can pump out some serious Gold yields and will excel at establishing trade routes, maintaining peaceful trade relationships with allies, and crushing anyone who opposes her coin with a powerful Military presence. An Economic Victory is achieved by completing the Silk Roads, Treasure Fleets, and Railroad Tycoon Legacy Paths, as well as the World Bank project.
The civilizations with which Amina can most effectively do this are Aksum in the Antiquity Age, Songhai in the Exploration Age, and Mughal in the Modern Age. Each of these features unique Economic-focused bonuses that will propel Amina to an ultimate victory. Her Warrior Queen of Zazzau ability not only gives each city +1 Resource capacity, but also provides +1 Gold per Age for each Resource assigned to Cities. These features on their own are enough to give her an edge, but when combined with each Civ's unique abilities and buffs, Amina is an unstoppable force for an Economic win.
Aksum is an obvious and natural choice of starting Civ for Amina's pursuit of an Economic Victory. The Aksumite's Kingdom of Natural Wealth ability gives them +2 Gold on Resources, complementing Amina's ability quite nicely. Amina can take advantage of the Dhow Naval units and establish as many naval trade routes as possible early in the campaign with their one-time use ability to establish an instant trade route. Aksum's naval trade units, the Tankwa, are indestructible and cannot be pillaged, plus they have a +10 trade route range. These features will help Amina dominate the Silk Roads Legacy Path.
