Shortly after the announcement that fan-favourite open-world game Red Dead Redemption would be coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, fans of the game have voice their displeasure at the title getting released on the PS4 instead of modern consoles or PC.
As caught by IGN, fans have also been disappointed by the fact that developer Rockstar Games isn’t really changing anything in the new release of Red Dead Redemption, having described the port as a “conversion”.
Reception to the release has been quite negative, with fans bemoaning the fact that the new release of Red Dead Redemption doesn’t even seem to be getting upscaled textures, support for 60 FPS, or a higher resolution.
Having announced Red Dead Redemption for PS4 and Nintendo Switch earlier this week, Rockstar Games has stated that the game will be coming to the two platforms on August 17. Interestingly, despite these releases, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S would still appear to be the definitive system to play the game, as its backwards compatibility support includes the ability to play at higher frame rates and 4K resolution.
