New Starfield texture packs were released online following the game's Early Access launch a few days back, introducing some welcome performance improvements with minimal visual quality loss and much more.
The Starfield Performance Texture Pack, created by BulwarkHD, introduces textures optimized for low-end PCs, which bring significant performance improvements with minimal loss of visual quality, as highlighted by the comparison screenshots below.
A second Starfield texture pack aiming to improve performance released yesterday is the Optimized Textures Pack. Like the Performance Texture Pack, the textures featured in it bring performance improvements with minimal visual degradation, so it's definitely worth a try, especially if the Performance Texture Pack doesn't bring any improvement.
Those with high-end systems who aren't having trouble running Starfield properly may want to take a look at the High Definition Texture Pack by Epiphany Absolute, which introduces AI-upscaled texture to double the original resolution for the landscape and ships. As these higher-quality textures require more VRAM, only those with high-end cards will be able to use them and keep performance steady.
Starfield is now available in Early Access on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S for those who purchased the game's Premium and Constellation Editions. The game will launch for everyone else this week, on September 6th. You can learn more about one of the best games Bethesda put out in a long time by checking out my review.
