A big cameo was reportedly cut from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, according to an industry insider.
Insider @MyTimeToShine revealed that the cameo was originally going to feature a “well-known name,” with George Clooney and Clive Owen apparently being considered. They would have played a “big Marvel hero from the comics” who would have appeared to be set up for a substantial role in the movie, but would instead die at the end of the first act. This idea later ended up being scrapped.

The Marvels will see the return of Oscar winner Brie Larson as she reprises her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who fans last saw in a major role in Avengers: Endgame. Joining Larson in the sequel are WandaVision breakout star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. It’s set to hit theaters on November 10, 2023.
The sequel is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. Additional cast also includes MCU vet Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and popular South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon.
