With Geoff Keighley tempering expectations for next week’s Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, Tam and Lucy discuss why getting on the hype train is rarely worth it.

Gamescom is next week, and Geoff Keighley is kicking off the festivities with his Opening Night Live event. The show is sure to be packed to the gills with new gameplay footage but, ahead of it, Keighley has advised viewers to temper expectations, explaining that the show will be less focussed on bew gameplay reveals, and instead focused on showing more from games that have already been announced.
Despite this setting of expectations, the hype train is leaving the station, with rumors running wild of what Geoff and co. have up their sleeves for the event. Lucy and Tam discuss the dangers that hype can bring.
