concluded its eighth season in January 2020 and since then fans have been wondering about a ninth season and whether or not they will see Stephen Amell pick up his bow and arrow again to reprise his role of Oliver Queen. This curiosity only grew further when Stephen Amell reprised his role in the ninth season of The Flash.

The CW will not pick up Arrow for another season as the ratings for the show had declined considerably by the time Arrow reached its eighth and final season. Moreover, Oliver Queen, the main protagonist of Arrow is currently dead in the main Arrowverse storyline. As such, his story is completed and there is no room to tell further stories with the character.

The official synopsis for Arrow reads:

“Spoiled billionaire playboy Oliver Queen is missing and presumed dead when his yacht is lost at sea. He returns five years later a changed man, determined to clean up the city as a hooded vigilante armed with a bow.”
