One of the major controversies of Overwatch 2 was how players would have to go about unlocking new heroes. Players who remember the first iteration of Overwatch will fondly think back of the days when heroes were available to play immediately after release, for free, too. This, notably, does not include the newest Support hero, Illari, although you can still unlock her for free by completing her challenges as she will exit her inaugural season. And thanks to a bug from the game’s anniversary event, all players will earn 3,000 credits, which should allow you to grab a new hero you haven’t unlocked yet.

According to Forbes, this window will start on October
