Amazon’s Luna is adding the ability to buy games, specifically games made by Ubisoft.
Luna is a cloud gaming platform developed by Amazon that allows customers to play games on not their PC or Mac as well as their Fire TV, Fire Tablets, iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and select Samsung Smart TVs.
In December, Amazon added the ability for Luna subscribers to play some Ubisoft PC games via Luna by connecting their Ubisoft+ account to their Luna account. Now Amazon Luna customers can purchase games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Crew Motorfest directly within Luna by using their Amazon account and linking their Ubisoft account.
Ubisoft games that are purchased through Luna come with a traditional game license, which will allow customers to play the game on Luna as well as download it and play offline using the Ubisoft Connect PC launcher.
Any game purchases that are made will automatically show up in a customer’s Luna library and in-game progress and purchases will also sync to their Ubisoft account, so they’ll be available no matter where you’re playing.
Customers who do purchase games via Luna will be able to stream those games as long as they either have an Amazon Prime account or an active Luna+ account. In order to access games on day one, gamers will also need to subscribe to Ubisoft+, which comes with a $17.99/month price tag.
Customers who are interested in trying the feature out can do so now on Amazon’s website.
