Activision is gearing up for a live deep dive of Modern Warfare 3 during Call of Duty Next on October 5, but ahead of the big reveal, a small update arrived to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Here's everything detailed in the October 4 patch notes.
While the latest game update is very small, the patch notes include an impactful change to Warzone's Ranked Play. The redeploy flare field upgrade was removed from the competitive mode. The developer explains the removal by saying, «redeploy flares often created situations with a general lack of competitive counter strategies, especially in the final moments of a Ranked Play battle royale match.»

For DMZ, the update corrected an issue where the mission «Thinning the Herd» could not be completed as intended due to Konni Group faction enemies no longer spawning on the Al Mazrah map.
Other bug fixes include a fix for an issue where locked camos could be added to weapons before they were earned, and a bug was squashed that sometimes caused a player to be kicked back to the main menu when attempting to access the «Manage Files” section of the settings menu.
