Though abandons many of the RPG-orientated elements of the franchise's past few installments, it retains a few excellent features. The Assassin's outfit has been an important part of the franchise since its inception in the mid-2000s — both for exclusively cosmetic reasons and for the perks that come with certain outfits. Although the significance of the protagonist's apparel peaked during the series' controversial RPG phase, the decision of what outfit to choose remains an incredibly important decision in the latest installment, — a significant and welcome return to the franchise's action-adventure roots.
Ubisoft's once incredibly popular franchise has wavered in quality and critical and commercial reception in recent years; however, seeks to rectify the mistakes of past games and return to what made the earliest games in the series so great. An aspect of this return to glory is the simplification of customization options. As a result, only features a limited number of outfits and costumes — that being said, the developer's decision to value quality over quantity is evident, and the outfits in the game are all stunning. Despite this, some outfits are significantly better in the game than others — primarily owing to their perks.

Located on the roof of the Shurta Headquarters in the Round City, the Hidden One Outfit unlocks the perk Deadly Moment. Although the Hidden One Outfit is visually impressive, albeit a hodgepodge of fabrics and armor plates, the perk Deadly Moment is one of the weakest to come with any outfit in the game. The perk concerns Focus Chunks, which at Rank 1 will fill by an additional 5% when performing stealth kills.
