Industry veteran Charlie Wen is Epic Games' new chief creative officer.
In a post on LinkedIn, Wen revealed that he had been promoted following him being hired in June of this year.
Wen has worked both in games and across the wider entertainment space during his career. He has spent over eight-and-a-half years at Riot Games, seven years as a creative consultant and one as a director of the League of Legends film department, as well as spending almost six years as the head of visual development at Marvel Studios, where he was also a co-founder. That's on top of another near-six years as director of visual development over at PlayStation America.
"It’s an incredible honour to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry and contribute my experience to an organisation dedicated to driving innovation in entertainment and technology," Wen wrote.
"Deeply grateful to everyone who has come alongside me thus far. The journey ahead promises to be truly epic."
Wen replaces Donald Mustard as Epic's chief creative officer.
