Spider-Man 2's narrative director Jon Paquette has confirmed that Gwen Stacy won't be appearing in the game at all, noting that she's not "part of our story".
One of the big new things about Spider-Man 2 is its dual focus on both Miles Morales and Peter Parker, both in terms of telling each of their stories and also in terms of letting players near-instantly swap between them during gameplay. For some fans, though, two Spider-people isn't quite enough, as many of them have been wondering whether we'll see Gwen Stacy added to the game, either with her Ghost Spider powers or even just in her human form.

TheGamer recently had the chance to preview Spider-Man 2 at an event in London, where Features Lead Jade King not only got to play through several hours of the game but also spoke to Jan Paquette, narrative director on Spider-Man 2. During the interview, Jade asked Paquette whether the team had considered adding Gwen Stacy to the sequel, but was sadly told that she isn't a part of the story that Insomniac Games is trying to tell.
Paquette said, "You know what, we entertain [the idea of] all the characters all the time. All of us at the studio are fans of Marvel. And so, one of the great things about Insomniac is that we love to get ideas from everybody on the team, so we're always getting ideas. But we also need to stay focused on what is the story that we're trying to tell and Gwen isn't part of the story that we're trying to tell unfortunately. But, who knows?"
Although it seems like Gwen Stacy is going to be missing out on this Spider-Man, it does seem like Paquette and the team have at least got the idea in consideration and might end up
