As costume designer Graham Churchyard recently revealed, Doctor Strange in his new costume and America Chavez were intended to be part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Spider-Man making a brief cameo appearance in Multiverse of Madness. But as fans know, COVID completely disrupted these plans. It wouldn’t have been much, but fans would have indeed enjoyed more wall-crawler’s on-screen time.
No Way Home was scheduled to be released after Multiverse of Madness. However, the release order was reversed due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19. No Way Home hit theaters in December 2021, while Multiverse of Madness in May 2022.

Many fans raised eyebrows when Doctor Strange referenced his disastrous adventure with Spider-Man in the multiverse. After all, No Way Home ended with everyone forgetting Spider-Man’s real identity, including Peter Parker’s love interest, MJ.
