Today's Patch 1.1.0 has brought about many changes, some good and some not so good. One change that Blizzard listed in their Patch notes was the change to Helltide events, which increased the level of Helltide enemies by 1 level, increased the cost of Tortured Gift of Mysteries chest to 250 Aberrant Cinders from 175, and allowed all interactable objects in Helltide zones to drop Aberrant Cinders. However, there appears to be one adjustment to Helltides that Blizzard did not include in their notes — the overall nerf to drop rates from enemies in Helltide zones. Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.0 Notes Aberrant Cinders Undocumented Nerf
HelltideDeveloper’s Note: We're looking to increase the danger in Helltide's risk-reward gameplay by making the monsters a bit more challenging and the Tortured Gift of Mysteries harder to open.Helltide monsters are now 3 Levels higher than the player instead of 2. The Tortured Gift of Mysteries chest has had its cost increased to 250 Aberrant Cinders from 175. All interactable objects in Helltide zones now have a small chance of dropping Aberrant Cinders. While an increase in monster level and Aberrant Cinders being able to drop from interactables is nice, the increase to Tortured Gift of Mysteries cost and decrease to Aberrant Cinder drop rate brings an overall nerf to Helltide events. However, it has been confirmed that the Aberrant Cinder drop rate reduction is not intended:
This is now confirmed as a bug and we have a fix in our first Hotfix that we will be rolling out.So while the Aberrant Cinder drop rate might be nerfed at the moment, this should be corrected with the next Hotfix. We're hoping this issue is swiftly resolved, and we will keep you updated on any further adjustments! Season 1
