It has been confirmed that players who purchased either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4 will be able to save their Battle Pass voucher to redeem for a future Season. However, it appears that if a player accidentally clicks on the «Activate Premium» button on the Season menu, there is no confirmation and the voucher will be used. Patch 1.1.0 Campfire Chat Summary Season of the Malignant Overview While this error can be easier to avoid on PC, on console the controller defaults to targetting this button whenever entering the Season menu. Diablo 4 content creator, Rhykker, had this to say about the issue:
When a UI element is designed to trick you into clicking it, it's called a «dark pattern.» IMO Blizzard needs to add a confirm button or something if they don't want to be accused of using dark patterns. Simple «confirm» pop-up would fix this.While a confirmation button would likely solve this issue, in the meantime, the development team is working on a way to make it so that the button is not selected by default whenever entering the Season menu screen. Just had a powwow with people on this post stream. We have a temp fix in the works that will at least ensure the cursor isn’t defaulted there and will instead be defaulted on Season Journey.It's good that this issue is being resolved, but as with many issues in Diablo 4, the community is left wondering — why are these issues present to begin with? After today's Campfire Chat, some are hopeful that Diablo 4 is headed in the right direction, but only time will tell if it will be enough to retain a respectable player base.
