Earlier this month, Magic: The Gathering history was made as the unique The One Ring card from the recent Lord of the Rings: Tales of Midde-Earth crossover set was sold by its owner for a cool $2.6 million, making it the most expensive card in the game's history by an absolute landslide. The card's owner, Brook Trafton, sold it to celebrity figure and beloved Magic enjoyer Post Malone, with a TikTok video showing the transaction between the two in person.
Now Trafton has no card and a whole lot of money, and a fair amount of people have apparently been asking how he plans on spending his new-found fortune now that he's a millionaire. While some may choose to go out on a wild bender around town or blow it all and have the time of their lives over the course of a few months, Trafton has a much more sensible and wholesome approach.

In a thread on Twitter detailing how he's going to spend the money, Trafton explains that he already has a financial advisor that has managed to set him up to be able to retire at 55. He says that he could buy a home in Toronto for upwards of $1 million, though admits possible repairs and taxes would be a pain in the neck. Instead, Trafton is likely going to invest the cash and live off the interest, using around $40,000 to pay rent and bills, while keeping his job and using his paychecks as "fun money" to donate or buy more Magic cards.
Trafton's plans aren't all interest and sensible, though what he plans to do with some of his fortune is still pretty wholesome. Instead of buying a house for himself, Trafton says that he's going to buy a much cheaper house in the countryside for his soon-to-be retired father
