There's still so little known about Death Stranding 2, but what can be ascertained is that recording has almost certainly started, according to a recent post from Hideo Kojima. Considered to be one of the most influential Japanese figures in gaming, Kojima's work encapsulates an elaborate blend of video game development and film direction, all combined into complex storytelling. He's also something of an elusive man, who's upcoming projects are often the center of much discussion in the industry.
His Kojima Productions studio is quite busy at the moment. Not only is the outfit currently in the midst of developing the anticipated sequel, but there's a movie adaptation of the original Death Stranding in the works as well. There's also an Xbox exclusive title that is said to be a horror game but, again, very little information at the moment. The gaming auteur himself also began a podcast in 2022 called «Brain Structure.» In all of this, it's surprising that he has time to do anything else, but it looks as though he's keen to let people know that progress is currently being made on at least one project.

With another image depicting a door with the words «Recording Room,» it stands to reason that this part of the game's development has well and truly started.
At this stage, not much is known about the follow-up to Kojima
