Chvrches have answered speculation surrounding their involvement in Death Stranding 2, saying they’d “be there in a second,” if asked by director Hideo Kojima.
Speaking to NME, synth player Martin Doherty was asked whether the Scottish synth-pop outfit was working on a song for the sequel.
“I mean, we’re available,” he replied. “There’s nothing formal yet. We’ve talked [and] we’ve hinted heavily at each other that we would both like to collaborate again.”
Doherty added: “There’s sort of a dance going on right now. I don’t want to be rejected by all out saying, ‘Can we be on the game please?’ and [Kojima] says no. But I don’t know.
“We’re continuing to build a really special relationship with Hideo. And I think we get him and I think he gets us. If the call comes in to do more then of course, we’ll be there in a second.”
While Kojima has yet to comment on the article, he did retweet it on his Japanese Twitter account.
Kojima has been a fan of the band for some years, regularly tweeting their music to his large following, and spending time with the band when they visit Japan. In January, Kojima tweeted a picture of himself and the band at Kojima Productions‘ offices.
The band also appeared on Kojima’s Spotify-exclusive Brain Structure podcast.
