As players advance through the level to fight Demon Lu Bu at the end, they are recommended to find plenty of Battle or Marking Flags scattered around the area to restore their resources. Battle Flag locations in is not too far off the beaten path, and players are bound to find at least a couple relatively close to Lu Bu's boss area. Players should try to be at least Morale Level 25 before attempting to fight Demon Lu Bu, as the amount of health this boss has can easily overwhelm unprepared players.

An easy way for players to make this fight easier would be to recruit a companion to distract Demon Lu Bu throughout the boss battle. However, extra hands in any fight take a bit of a load off players' shoulders, with companion Hong Jing, in particular, having a good set of skills for this encounter in particular. Although players could also team up with friends in 's multiplayer mode, those who desire victory might find a more consistent ally in the AI-controlled companion.
