Elden Ring has sold 20 million copies worldwide, according to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware.
The game, which was released on February 25, 2022, has reached the notable milestone just days shy of its first anniversary.
According to Bandai Namco, the 20 million total combines shipment figures of the physical version of the game and sales figures of the digital versions, including Steam.
“The companies would like to thank everyone who has played this game from the bottom of their hearts, and will continue to develop various ways for the fans to enjoy the world of Elden Ring in the future,” a statement from both companies read.
Elden Ring was released last year to mass critical acclaim, and went on to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022.
The game received an update in December which opened up the several Colosseums that had been dotted around the map since release.
The Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid opened their gates in the update, allowing for PvP battles including duels, free-for-alls and team fights.
FromSoftware also announced during The Game Awards that it was working on a new game in the Armored Core series.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will release on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, marking the first new Armored Core game in more than a decade (the last being Armored Core V back in 2012).
VGC’s Elden Ring review called it From Software’s most vital game since Demon’s Souls.
“Elden Ring is a fantastic game that can still deliver the unmatched thrill of defeating a tough boss after an hours-long battle,” our review read. “Those who worship at the church of Souls-like will find a game that’s basically everything they ever wanted.”
