Bungie has confirmed that the latest patch for Destiny 2 includes a fix for the damage bug plaguing two unique Exotic Primary weapons in the game. Bugs and glitches are commonplace in Destiny 2 and other live-service titles where many moving parts are involved. To Bungie's credit, the developers are proficient at ironing out the kinks or providing workarounds if a fix isn't readily available to ensure smooth sailing for players.
Part of Destiny's identity as a looter-shooter franchise are the unique weapons with distinct functionalities that provide a fresh gameplay experience to be enjoyed over countless hours. Exotic weapons are a core part of that experience, thanks to the unique Exotic perks that enable or enhance specific builds in different ways. As these weapons interact with the game's mechanics differently than Legendary weapons, Exotics are also uniquely susceptible to bugs and glitches and often get disabled in-game. While not as egregious as the problems caused by Destiny 2's infamous Telesto, the bugs plaguing Exotics in Lightfall are nonetheless causing player dissatisfaction.

Shortly after the launch of Lightfall, players reported that Destiny 2's Quicksilver Storm and Touch of Malice Exotics were dealing significantly less damage than intended, which Bungie quickly confirmed as a legitimate bug. Just today, the developer announced on the Destiny 2 Team Twitter page that these two Exotic weapons are finally getting fixed in the next update scheduled for the weekly reset. Earlier this week, Bungie took to Reddit to elaborate on how Quicksilver Storm's bug was much more complicated than anticipated, leading to a month-long delay.
