Polyphony Digital has unveiled the March 2023 Update 1.31 for Gran Turismo 7, bringing another track variant, a clutch of new cars and a 120fps mode for the game on PlayStation 5.
Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.31 will be going live at 10PM PST today, 29th March, on the US West Coast which translates to 6AM BST / 2PM JST tomorrow, 30th March for us non-Americans.
If you like the Nurburgring, then you will have two new ways to experience the German icon with the Endurance and Sprint layouts. These are very, very different in terms of length, as you can imagine!
And you’ll have five new cars to send into the Green Hell.
The last one is sure to create some barmy races, as the Japanese minivan turned luxury car gets sent hooning round race tracks.
Fans of Scapes will have a new cherry blossom location to take pretty pictures in, as well.
But by far and away the most exciting for keen virtual racers is the addition of a 120fps mode. This will only be available on PS5 and with a connected 120fps compatible TV or screen. We’ll have to wait and see for the full patch notes if that comes with VRR support as well (this has seemingly leaked), as well as how it compares to the regular 60fps mode in terms of resolution and fidelity. It’s quite likely that it comes with a drop down to a 1080p resolution, for example.
