Back in February, Bandits' MenaRD won the Capcom Cup 9 tournament. This was a special occasion for several reasons, not the least of which was that it was the last official Capcom tournament to feature Street Fighter V. The finals took place between the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier, Zhen, and the "strongest bull" MenaRD, both of whom had been dominating their matches throughout the tourney.
MenaRD and Zhen had matched just once before during the Capcom Cup, with MenaRD handing Zhen his first defeat. The finals were a grueling series of rounds where both players often went down to nail-biting levels of health, but after a surprise come-from-behind win in the third match, MenaRD seemed to take the momentum to win the fourth match and secure his second Capcom Cup.

The world's first two-time Capcom Cup winner, MenaRD was presented a check for $120,000 and a massive trophy featuring Street Fighter mascot Ryu's signature Shoryuken move. It was a touching moment for the Dominican player, who broke down in tears after his big win.
Fast-forward two months and MenaRD is back in the Dominican Republic eagerly waiting to be reunited with his big trophy. What came in the mail, however, was a lot smaller than what MenaRD hoisted above his head following his victory at the Capcom Cup.
"Bro..." wrote MenaRD alongside a picture of the tiny trophy that was delivered to him. Easily something you could grasp in one hand, the trophy still has an image of Ryu performing his Shoryuken, but it's quite obviously not the same trophy that MenaRD hoisted not seven weeks ago.
