There’s a big new update for God of War: Ragnarök, with the most notable addition being a New Game Plus mode for the multi-award winning blockbusting PlayStation exclusive. However, that’s not all that’s been added in patch 4.00, and we’ve got the full patch notes below.
New Game Plus (NG+) is always a popular addition to big video games with RPG levelling and progression, allowing people to play through the game again, perhaps at a higher difficulty, while retaining all of the skills, abilities, weapons and gear that were unlocked on the first play through the story.
While it’s generally best to have this option available on day one, in God of War: Ragnarök’s case, it’s coming around five months after release, and that’s enabled Santa Monica Studio to add more content to go alongside a prospective replay. The level cap has been increased, with the ability to convert Level 9 equipment into ‘Plus’ versions, there’s five new armour sets, one of which is unlocked for you right from the off, new enchantments and new progression paths to explore.
Alongside this, there’s a whole host of bug fixes that have been worked on in the last few months. However, note that there are also two trophies that can currently be blocked if you haven’t completed specific things prior to meeting their requirements. Make sure to craft Dragon Scale armour in your first playthrough, and craft all types of shield before you craft a 9+ shield, but if you do get locked out of this, don’t worry too much because SMS are working to make a retroactive fix for those affected.
Here’s the full patch notes from SMS:
Gilded Coins – Engraving and Badge Enchantments
Berserker Soul Drops – Stat Boost Enchantments
Burdens
Endgame Bosses
Other Enemy
