AMD AIBs & retail partners have lowered the prices of all Navi 21 Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards to make them competitive against NVIDIA's RTX 4070.
The AMD Radeon Radeon RX 6800 graphics card from Gigabyte in its Gaming OC flavor is now on sale for a price of $469.99 US at Newegg. The card is a custom design that offers the Windforce 3X cooling system (with alternate spinning fans and screen cooling) and a protective metal back plate. 256-bit memory bus. Users can also get the game The Last of Us Part 1 as part of the promo, which is another $60 saved.
Gigabyte's AMD Radeon RX 6800 Gaming OC GPU is powered by the AMD RDNA2 architecture, with the capability of dual BIOS, a base clock of 1925 MHz, and a boost clock of up to 2155 MHz. The GPU has two HDMI 2.1 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4a ports for connectivity ports. This is not an XT variant of the AMD partner graphics card, and the Navi 21 GPU is slimmed down in this specific model.
However, the card offers an additional 4GB VRAM for memory than NVIDIA's newest graphics card series, which provides nothing above 12 GB. Earlier, we reported about the AMD Radeon RX 6900 series cards also getting a massive price drop, more on that here.
It appears that AMD GPU partners are doing everything they can to dissuade current and new NVIDIA GPU buyers from looking the other way and focusing on Team Red. Meanwhile, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is available in plenty of stock and can be found at MSRP from multiple AIBs at multiple retailers. The Radeon RX 6800 series cards however don't have as much volume to target bigger markets so this price cut may only last till the supply last which is not too much to begin with.
