Apple is scheduled to host its WWDC 2023 event on June 5 where it will see fit to announce its forthcoming iOS 17 update for all compatible iPhone models. While the event is less than a month away, Apple also has iOS 16.5 in the works which will be released soon to the general public. According to information based on a protected Twitter account (via MacRumors), Apple is planning to release iSO 16.5 to the public next week. What this means is that we still have one beta build to go before Apple releases the final build to the public, It was previously coined by the same account that the iOS 16.5 build's Release Candidate will have a build number of 20F65. If the news has any heft to it, we might see the release candidate build announced either today or tomorrow.
As mentioned earlier, iOS 16.5 will be a minor update considering the number of features it will bring to the table. The build has been in the developmental phase since March and up until now, there are only two features that are expected to arrive on compatible iPhone models. Even though Apple will announce iOS 17 in a couple of weeks, the company would continue to offer iOS 16 updates until iOS 17 is released to the general public. With that said, we can expect iOS 16 updates to continue until September.
