God of War Ragnarök has received a New Game Plus (NG+) update, which also includes new equipment, new enchantments and an increased level cap.
Players who download the update will still have to complete the game if they haven’t already.
Once they do, they’ll have access to the NG+ mode, which carries over their equipment, weapons and skills from their previous playthrough.
The only exception to this is the Sonic and Hex arrows, which will be re-locked again until players reach the point in the main questline when they become available.
As well as the new mode, the update includes new equipment, including the Armor of the Black Bear (which is Kratos’ cloak from the opening scene) and the Ares and Zeus armours from God of War 2018’s NG+ mode.
Players looking for a challenge will also be able to apply the Spartan Armour, which has no Perk, no Stats and is locked at Power Level 1.
Santa Monica Studio has also redesignjed 13 of the game’s existing armous with new colour combinations and styles, which can be bought at the Huldra Brothers’ Shop and applied to any existing Level 9+ armour.
A new level cap has also been added to the game, with players able to convert all the Level 9 equipment into new Level 9+ versions that offer new levels of progression.
The update also adds new enchantments, new progression paths, more options in the Niflheim Arena and tweaks to some of the endgame bosses to make those fights feel fresher.
