Mia Goth delivered two killer performances last year in X and Pearl, and now, she will reportedly set her sights on the vampiric Marvel Cinematic Universe project Blade. The delayed film stars Mahershala Ali in the titular role.
Variety reports Goth's role hasn't been disclosed yet for Blade. Along with Ali, she will join other cast members Delroy Lindo (The Good Fight, The Harder They Fall) and Aaron Pierre (Old).
Blade was originally set to release later this year but Marvel shut down the film after director Bassim Tariq departed the project. Lovecraft Country's Yann Demange will now helm the Daywalker movie. In addition, Michael Starrbury is penning a new screenplay for Blade. He's known for his work on When They See Us, which stars John Leguizamo and Niecey Nash.
Goth debuted on the film scene in 2013 with Nymphomaniac. She's also appeared in movies like High Life alongside Robert Pattinson and is set to continue her horror chops with MaXXXine, following up on X and Pearl.
Blade has been delayed to September 6, 2024, and currently will serve as the last film for Phase 5 of the MCU. The reboot of the vampire hunter was originally announced by Marvel Studios at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019.
