Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Triumph Studios have announced that the recently-released turn-based strategy game Age of Wonders 4 is now the fastest-selling game in the Age of Wonders franchise. Taking the Twitter, the studio announced that 250,000 copies of Age of Wonders 4 were sold, and that the game saw a peak of 42,826 concurrent players on Steam.
It is worth keeping in mind that the player numbers only take into account the playerbase for the PC version of Age of Wonders 4. It is unclear of the 250,000 sales figure also counts the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases of the game.
Age of Wonders 4 was released earlier this month. Like its predecessors, Age of Wonders 4 is a mix of 4X strategy games like the Civilization franchise, along with RPG gameplay and turn-based combat gampeplay. In Age of Wonders 4, players can make use of Tomes of Magic to take on powerful Wizard Kings.
The biggest new feature in Age of Wonders 4 is allowing players to create their own factions by mixing and matching various traits from other pre-existing factions. Players can make anything, ranging from a clan of cannibalistic halflings, to mystical moon elves.
Age of Wonders 4 is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Age of Wonders 4 is officially the fastest selling game in the series!
