There's a very, very good chance Sucker Punch Productions has a PS5 sequel to Ghost of Tsushima in development, but according to Jeff Grubb, it won't be one of Sony's big announcements for next week's PlayStation Showcase. The Giant Bomb journalist interjected during a The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom discussion on his Game Mess Decides podcast that Ghost of Tsushima 2 won't be at the show, and neither will BioWare RPG Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
Not based on his own personal predictions, it appears Grubb receives the tip-off from a source whilst live on air. Earlier in the podcast, co-host Mike Minotti made the suggestion of a Ghost of Tsushima sequel reveal during the livestream, which Jeff Grubb agreed with. Therefore, it seems safe to say an outside source tuned in and sought to provide Grubb with extra information. «Moving back to PlayStation Showcase, I might have just sniffed out two things that won't be there, if that helps anybody. It doesn't sound like Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be there,» he says.
As one of the original sources a PlayStation Showcase would be taking place in the coming weeks, Grubb has a proven, reliable track record at this point for accurate reporting. Therefore, it may be worth lowering any expectations you have for a Ghost of Tsushima-related reveal during next week's show. The PlayStation Showcase is set to air on Wednesday, 24th May 2023 at 9pm BST / 1pm ET / 4pm ET. We can look forward to over one hour of PS5 and PSVR2 titles.
