This might not be a huge surprise to pundits paying attention, but the eagerly anticipated PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will not be coming to PS4, Square Enix has confirmed.
But let's back up for a moment. Last week, following the announcement that Rebirth would actually be coming out in early 2024, eagle-eyed forum users over at ResetEra noticed an inconsistency on the games' official website, leading some to believe the title could be coming to last-gen consoles.
Well, in an email to GamesRadar+, Square Enix has cleared up the hullabaloo, stating that the website has been updated to reflect the «correct release information», and so it has. While this might come as disappointing news to some, Rebirth has been billed as a PS5 exclusive from the outset, and sadly this isn't a supermarket situation in which we are entitled to what the sticker says, correct or not.
