The new Raging affix is available for testing on the Patch 10.1 PTR and as players have guessed, it also prevents players from interrupting while it is active.
New Raging Affix in Patch 10.1The new Raging affix in Patch 10.1 reads as follows:
Immune to interrupts and crowd control effects. This buff only lasts for 20 seconds now and can still be Soothed.
No InterruptsAs you can see in the video below, the Healing Balm spell shows as Protected and the interrupt doesn't kick it.
CC BreaksUnfortunately, since the Enrage buff can apply while a target is CC'ed, this means that any active CC ability will break once the mob passes 30%. No pre-stunning the mob and bursting it down. However, any cast that has begun when a mob gets enraged is still available to be kicked. You can see in the video below that Asphyxiate breaks when the mob gets Enraged.
Initial ThoughtsThe new Raging seems much better for Tanks to not get destroyed sub 30%, but has some issues that I believe players will find frustrating. Certain mobs need to be able to be kicked as they have short cooldowns and are important interrupts such as Healing abilities or Withering Curse from Underrot. Not being able to interrupt these and just having to deal with them for 20 seconds seems overly punishing. In addition, some mobs like to run away when low on health in Freehold. With Raging active at that low health threshold, this prevents any kind of slow, CC or Death Grip to prevent them from running into another pack and pulling them without a Soothe. The Beguiling Frost mob and Inspiring kick protections caused significant friction with players while its active and both have been removed. Why is a kick protection affix being added back into the game
