This week, the Incorporeal and Afflicted Mythic+ affixes have received spawn rate nerfs on the Patch 10.1 PTR.
AfflictedThe Afflicted affix has received a massive spawn rate nerf in this Patch. The maximum number of Afflicted that can spawn is now capped at 2 and there appears to be a 15 second ICD between spawns. This allows a lot of time to relax between dealing with waves of Afflicted mobs and makes it much less overwhelming. In addition, while there does appear to be a 15 second ICD, it doesn't always spawn on cooldown which means that you can sometimes go a long period of time without having to deal with the affix. This is a great change to the affix as you won't have situations where there are 5 Afflicted up at a time.
IncorporealThe Incorporeal affix has received a large spawn rate nerf in this Patch. The maximum number of Incorporeals that can spawn at a time is still capped at 2 but sometimes only one Incorporeal would spawn even on the largest pulls. There now appears to be a 20 second ICD between spawns but unlike Afflicted, it seems more than likely to always spawn on 20 second intervals. However, I do think think that even with these Incorporeal changes it's still not enough.
ThoughtsAs each Incorporeal add lasts 20 seconds, and Incorporeal adds spawning every 20 seconds, this means that as the first set is expiring, the next spawn immediately spawns and you'll have a constant cycle of dealing with Incorporeal adds. The Afflicted has downtime between each wave of the affix spawning, but Incorporeal does not which is, in my opinion, a major issue. This affix is still massively overwhelming for players, and either the ICD of the Incorporeal spawning needs to be massively increased or the time that
