New World Fury of the Spriggan
New World has announced the Fury of the Spriggan event, which starts next week. The event will offer various guaranteed rewards for defeating the invading Dryads.
The format and general point of the event–which runs from May 24th through June 13th–should be pretty familiar if you’ve been in Aeternum for a while. According to the official description, prepare for the Dryad Shamans who arrive on a regular basis to take out that fury.
“The Earth has been uneasy since the re-awakening of the Ennead and the time to take action is now. Dryads have converged to summon a mighty Spriggan and combat that which threatens the natural order – be it Ancient, Corrupted, or Human. All shall know the fury of the Earth.”
Earth Day was last month here in the US, but Aeternum is getting a different type. You probably don't want to let the giant Spriggan take over and take revenge on the Earth’s behalf. Groups of 20 or more players can take on the Shamans that will spawn around Brimstone Sands, Brightwood, Ebonscale Reach, Edengrove, and Mourningdale. One strategy to keep in mind is that you should make flame braziers that will strengthen your weapons when you are facing these woody enemies.
Rewards will range from guaranteed useful items, like consumables and Obsidian Gypsum, to chances at some major loot (in addition to those guaranteed useful items). This is another effort by the dev team to make events feel worth it and like they are meaningfully rewarding.
“Each victory over the Spriggan nets players one of the following rewards:
A 50% chance of rolling a level-appropriate procedural weapon or armor piece. Guaranteed to be Rare or above.”
