Purveyor of good graphics, Videlectrix, has announced that Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate is coming to PC via Steam and Itch.io.
For those of you who aren’t cool enough to know, Dangeresque, the eponymous sometimes private eye, is a character played by Strong Bad, a prominent figure in the ‘00s-era web cartoon, Homestar Runner. Dangeresque: The Roomisode was a spin-off Flash game that combines this weird no-budget concept with LucasArts adventure games. It was called this because it consisted entirely of trying to get out of one room.

Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate is a continuation of this concept… maybe? It will involve three roomisodes, otherwise known as a Triungulate. It will also include cutscenes and full voice acting.
Homestar Runner sort of fizzled out around the time the internet was becoming far less interesting. However, it never completely went away. New cartoons and other projects keep coming out sporadically from the creators, the Brothers Chapman. Notably, every so often, Strong Bad will play an old game in his Youtube series, Disk 4 of 12.
Homestar Runner was a huge part of my life for most of its heyday. It sucked me in as a teenager, and it helped inform the development of my sense of humor. I still subscribe to some of the Brothers Chapman’s approach to wordplay in my writing. I’m hoping that Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate is a sign that we’re going to get a remake of Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. I’m looking at you, Skunkape Games.
