EA and Codemasters have released a new video, which is the first look at the new Las Vegas Circuit in F1 23. The game will launch on June 16 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix was introduced by Formula One last year as it makes its first appearance on the calendar this year. With the backdrop of Las Vegas setting the stage with bright neon lights and the night sky, the race will literally take place on the Las Vegas Strip. It is safe to say that tickets are a pricey commodity for the event that will take place the weekend of November 19.
To tie fans over until then, players of F1 23 will be able to experience it first hand. To celebrate the iconic track, there are also time-limited Las Vegas-themed items which includes a special livery, helmet, gloves and a hat for anyone who pre-orders the F1 23 Champions Edition before May 31. The studio built the Las Vegas Strip Circuit from the ground up in F1 23 using thousands of reference photos and a ton of photogrammery data. The track features three straights, a high-speed cornering sequence and a single chicane section. Designers expect the average speed around the circuit to be comparable to Monza, the ‘Temple of Speed’.
“Our team has designed a wonderful virtual recreation of one of the most exciting and striking cities in the world. The sheer scale and density of the buildings in Las Vegas has been a fun challenge for the team along with the vibrance and energy of The Strip lit up for the Saturday night race. It took over 1900 days of cumulative development time to deliver that level of authenticity”, said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
